Extra Elytra Jumps with Spring Boots

I have Spring III on my boots, and when I fly with an elytra I can jump more than three times in a row. Each jump is very small, but i still can gain height after a while. This happens in both Minecraft 1.21.4 and 1.21.5. In the video, I am spamming the space bar the entire time while in the air until I eventually run out of jumps.

I mean it could be a nice feature if it would’nt slow you down while flying
